Questions
How often are lessons?
Can I have an hour lesson?
How much are lessons?
Where do you teach?
Do you rent instruments?
I found an instrument at a discount store/ebay. Can
I use it to learn on?
Lessons are once a week for a 1/2 hour, Monday,
Tuesday, Wenesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I do
not teach lessons on an every other week basis.
Yes, If my schedule allows.
Lessons are $21 per 1/2 hour.
I teach from a studio housed in the Academy of
Music in Menomonee Falls.
I do not personally rent instruments, however, I
HIGHLY recommend
Korinthian Violins for
rentals of violins, violas and cellos.  Guitar
rentals are not available anywhere as far as I
know (and if you find someplace, please let me
know!).  Rentals are also available at The
Academy of Music.
Please don't.  You'll be doing yourself a favor.
Instruments from such places as Wal Mart,
Target, Best Buy, Guitar Center, and eBay are not
set up properly and are NOT good for anyone
to learn on.  Save yourself (or your child) a lot
of frustration and youself a lot of money in
proper setup and buy or rent something decent
straight away.
What about the instrument I found in the attic/closet/etc.?
Chances are that instrument will need new
strings and a set up.  Be sure to check it for
cracks and warping.  If it's a guitar, the neck
could be warped from tension on the strings
and years of negelect.  It could, however, be
decent. Violins, violas and cellos have bows that
probably need reharing. Guitars can be checked
out at The
Academy of Music.  Violins, violas,
and cellos and thier bows can be checked out at
Korintian Violins.  All instruments can be
checked out at
White House of Music.
What else do I need to get started?

How old should my child be before starting lessons?
That depends. Children can begin an instrument
very young as long as the parents are fully
involved in the learning process (including
coming to, and being involved in, the lesson). I
personally don't teach anyone under 5 years old.
In my experience, I have found that 6 or 7 is a
great age to start, though I've had a couple
successful 5 yr olds whose parents were very
involved.
